A main qualified native teacher is present in each classroom. Additional Language teachers have specific schedules and visit the class between 08:00 am and 01:00 pm. Infants from 3 to 12 months old are supervised by a teacher and a DHA licensed nurse. Our teaching staff undergo continuous professional development as assigned by the management.

We are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure progress of all children. However, enrollment depends on whether we can accommodate the child and cater for his/her needs. We always aim to do what is in the child’s best interest.
What is an appropriate meal for my child to bring? Does the nursery provide meals?
Meal breaks are very important moments of a child’s school day. They bring awareness about balanced nutrition, help develop good table manners, social skills, and provide additional opportunities to interact with teachers as well as other children. During this time, children copy one another and tend to eat what their peers are eating. This is the perfect time to encourage them to try new foods.
If you wish to prepare your child’s lunch, we would recommend that you include a balance of proteins, carbohydrates and vegetables (Few ideas : sliced fresh fruits, mixed salad, crackers, yoghurt, cheese, fish, meat, pasta, etc.) Please note that we are a chocolate and peanuts-free nursery.
Alternatively, you may register your child for balanced and fresh school meals provided by an external company of a high repute. What is the difference in the French curriculum?

How do you compare to Montessori?
Maria Montessori was a wise woman whose expertise with children and unique teaching philosophy spread rapidly throughout North America during the 20th century. Her core beliefs cantered on small classroom size, manipulatives that link math and geography to day-to-day life and promoting a sense of independence within the children. The philosophy at Le Petit Poucet, includes some of Maria’s best tenets: small classroom sizes help us to know each student well and give them adequate support in a differentiated environment. We also embrace life-based teaching. But our educational approach goes further, by proactively promoting 21st century skills required in today’s world. Our modern culture includes an ever-changing global environment. We believe that if the children attending LPP are to succeed, we must enhance their ability to understand, communicate and collaborate with others of varying backgrounds. Science and art is also part of our project-based instruction, including a daily problem-solving exercise. Sports have great share in our program too. Our bilingual program opens minds to global citizenship, and advances presentation skills. The true bilingual education opens the mind exponentially allowing the brain to learn and connect beyond words.
